The Bartell Theatre Foundation would not be where it is today without the amazing volunteer community that wants to see theatre succeed in Madison. We always appreciate the interest in volunteering. There are a number of ways you can volunteer.
Front of House:
The goal of Front of House volunteers is to ensure that every individual that walks through our doors has a great experience.
The Usher ensures a welcoming and organized environment for our audience members. Duties include greeting patrons, verifying tickets, addressing any inquiries or concerns, and light clean up of the seating area after performances.
The Box Office Assistant serves as a friendly first point of contact for our patrons. This role includes selling tickets, providing production information, and assisting with concession sales.

House Managers are responsible for providing a friendly, clean, and organized atmosphere for our patrons. They must maintain the appearance of the House and Lobby, assist the Box Office volunteers including providing guidance with the ticketing system, and spearhead customer service. House Managers are responsible for the financial integrity of the box office during their shift.

Bartender:
Bartenders provide a warm and friendly atmosphere while selling beer and wine. Bartenders are responsible to check ID’s and serve responsibly. They are also responsible for the financial integrity of the bar during their shift.
Backstage:
Stage Manager, lighting, sound, costumes, publicity, construction, painting, acting, directing, producing (and all other positions that come to together to put on a production)
