Help the Bartell celebrate 25 years of community art!
Current funds raised: $25,000
Funding Goal: $100,000
Many were skeptical about the idea of a community theatre co-op, but 25 years later, we are still here! To help mark this amazing milestone we are embarking on a project to literally keep the marquee lights shining bright for the next 25 years and continue to keep the Bartell as THE place where our community gathers to perform and experience art.
WHAT IS PROJECT 25?
In short, many exciting things to refresh and update our building!
WHY PROJECT 25?
The Bartell might be 25 years old as a community theatre but our building is MUCH older. Our marquee was originally installed in the 1980s when the building was a movie theatre. The building itself was built in 1906, that means it is over 100 years old! Therefore we have several projects we want to complete to help freshen up and upgrade our facility. That means replacing the 40+ year old marquee, refreshing and improving our lobby, and upgrading our technology to keep the Bartell as modern and relevant to the arts community as possible.
Over the years the Bartell has been the home of dozens of community arts organizations and has hosted countless more.
HOW CAN I HELP?
To complete all the projects, the Bartell is raising $100,000 in funding. Your contribution will help us keep this community resource looking amazing for another 25 years. You can be a part of maintaining a building that has become a home for so many artists and art lovers in our community.
The Bartell is also opening up the naming rights of several areas in the building, if you are interested in learning more about leaving your company’s mark on a beloved community institution located in the heart of Downtown Madison, email our Executive Director at jtropp@bartelltheatre.org
