Committees of the Bartell Theatre Foundation

The Bartell Theatre Foundation supports its resident companies through rental subsidies, education, collective marketing and development, and community advocacy.  The front-line work of the Foundation is done through its committees. The committees interact as necessary with each other and with the Managing Director, and report to the Board of Directors for review and authority.  All committee meetings are open to the public. Development Committee

Molly Vanderlin, Chair
The Development Committee seeks to financially support the unique collaboration of the participating theatre companies allowing them to thrive and grow.  Recent projects include the successful fundraiser "Art Lives Here".  Future projects include the Bartell Theatre Awards and the "Portraits" series.  (sign up for the newsletter for more by clicking on the Volunteer button to your right!)

Marketing Committee
Joan Herzing, Chair
The Marketing committee works to provide institutional marketing, thus increasing attendance, positioning the Bartell as an entertainment destination, and serving as a marketing resource for the resident companies.  Recent projects include: The 2009/2010 Season Announcement Event. Ongoing projects include: this website and Intermissions, the e-newsletter. 

Operations Committee:
Tara Ayres, Chair
The Ops committee seeks to streamline daily operations of the Bartell Theatre as a performance space.  Voting members are representatives of each resident company, but other members are welcome. The Ops Committee recent projects include: Volunteer Program review & discussion, website discussion, and unified marketing proposal review.  Upcoming projects include: further Volunteer Program discussion.

Technical Committee:
Jon Miner, Chair
The Tech Committee provides leadership and feedback to staff and the board in matters of theatre technical issues and repairs & maintains technical equipment.  Representatives of each resident company sit on this committee and serve as the first contact for technical problems experienced by the resident companies. Recent projects by the Tech Committee include: "The Care & Feeding of Lighting Instruments", a training seminar led by Chris Barker of CB Productions; repair, cleaning and inventory of all lighting instruments.  Upcoming projects include: Research on a new cyc, further repair & cleaning of sound & lighting equipment.

Maintenance Committee
Kirk Stantis, Chair
The Maintenance Committee oversees the maintenance of the building, appliances, systems and supplies not directly related to the production of performances.  Recent work: Repainting of the Evjue hallway and installation of past show posters there and in the Mezzanine.  Future projects include: New lobby lighting, repainting restrooms, ongoing maintenance and repair.

Concessions Committee
Bonnie Balke, Chair
The Concessions Committee oversees the selection, purchase and stocking of the concessions areas in the lobby.  Recent projects:  Renovation of the Concessions Counter with recycled self-storage, renovation of the bar room storage and walnut bar & bar window. Future projects:
